Our promise to our supporters
Thank you for supporting Opera Rara. As an organisation that is in the business of art and entertainment, we want your experience of giving to Opera Rara to be a positive one. Our Supporter Promise guarantees that:
We will treat you with respect
Anyone who takes a donation from you on behalf of Opera Rara will be understanding and respectful. Your donation will be promptly acknowledged.
Your donation will be spent as you directed
If you indicate where your donation is to be spent, every penny of it will support this activity. We will always handle your gift responsibly and in a way that is most effective for the beneficiaries of our organisation. If you choose to let us decide where your money can be best used, we will spend it wisely, ensuring that it works hard to deliver new and exciting operatic discoveries.
We will update you on the impact of your gift
You will receive updates on how your gift is used. Such updates will be appropriate for the size of donation you have given. All of our fundraising communications will be honest and truthful, and they will comply with the law.
We will act responsibly with your data
We promise to store your personal details safely and securely, and we will never sell, trade or swap your data with third parties without your explicit consent. Your confidentiality will be respected at all times. We comply with the law relating to fundraising and the use of personal data as outlined by the General Data Protection Regulation established in EU law from May 2018. For further information on this please see our Privacy Policy.
We will respect your wishes
If you tell us specifically that you do not want to be contacted by the Opera Rara’s Development team we will act on your wishes. We will follow guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) so that phone calls and email stop within 28 days and postal communications within two months.
We will follow The Charity Commission’s guidance
We promise to ensure that any gift is safe to accept and is in the best interests of Opera Rara in accordance with guidance from The Charity Commission. In order to protect the reputation of our donors and funders as well as the reputation of Opera Rara, the Board of Trustees has the right to remove any recognition or return the gift of a donor or funder, upon formal approval, as they deem necessary.
We will be available if you need to talk
We are committed to giving our donors the care that they deserve. If you have any questions about your gift or would like to share your feedback, please contact us. If you have a concern or complaint about our fundraising activity, please email us at info@opera-rara.com to find out how to take this forward.
We will continue to update and develop our Supporter Promise in consultation with you.
